Got a 540GB Samsung 2.5-inch (laptop) SATA HDD courtesy of the office. Installed in my PS3 this afternoon. Formatted. Even after Yellow Dog Linux 6.2 is installed, I have over 500GB free for pics, movies, music, and games. Going to start downloading movies from the PlayStation Store soon.
The era of absurdly large PS3s is beginning. I wouldn’t doubt seeing a 120GB or 250GB PS3 in 2009. Not sure why Sony is lagging the laptop SATA market by so much aside from being cheap and trying to cut manufacturing costs.
